Organization's Web site

The United Way is an organization that encourages people in the community to help others. The organization encourages helping education, volunteerism, and rebuilding communities such as the ones destroyed by Katrina. For more than 30 years the NFL has been working with the United Way to achieve its goal. The NFL encourages players and communities to get involved and help those in need.

Classmate's Blogs

Lauren's blog is about the new Harry Potter theme park that is opening at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. The blog discusses Harry Potter Web sites, news, and blogs.

Lindsey's blog is about the Atlanta Falcons and how they handle the Micheal Vick situation. The blog focuses on how to get the fans back in Atlanta. Lindsey discusses relevent blogs and articles that affect her public relations campaign.

Blogs

The AOL FanHouse is a Web site where people can blog on their favorite sports. Currently there are posts about things that happened in the NFL and MLB this weekend and also posts about the Super Bowl.

The Professional Cheerleader Blog is a place where professional cheerleaders can discuss events going on with their careers and with their teams. This is a particularly interesting blog for the NFL Women's Gear, as the cheerleaders could be a target market for the line.

News Story

The aritcle I read was about the shaky quarterback situation in the NFL. After the Jets loss on Sunday they are debating starting their second string quarterback instead of Chad Pennington. The Jets struggle is one facing many teams this season in the NFL. A few weeks ago the Chicago Bears quarterback, Rex Grossman, was benched as well.

Web sites

The NFL Shop is a Web site where fans can buy all kinds of merchandise from their favorite teams. There are jerseys, shirts, jewelry, and even underwear that feature the 32 teams logos.

The ESPN Web site is a site where fans can get the latest info about scores and teams. Fans can also access recent and past news about football teams.

The CBS Sports Web site is another site where fans can get the latest updates on their teams. They can also watch recent video from sports news anchors.

Discussion Boards

The first discussion board I looked at is ESPN's NFL Disccusion Board. The board is a place for NFL fans to discuss certain games that are going on during the week. The board also allows for fans to discuss issues concening the NFL including certain players poor performances or certain teams outstanding games.



The second discussion board I saw was Yahoo's discussion board for the NFL. The Yahoo boards have broad topics where people can discuss anything from family to health to sports. The board I chose was one about the NFL. I posted about the Patriots.
